Hydrotherapy is a major aspect of naturopathic medicine, and the news this week that a Russian spa (Mashuk Akva-Term Sanatorium, in the town of Zheleznovodsk, Russian Caucasus Mountains region) had unveiled a monument to the enema (“bronze monument of three cherubs carrying an enema, a design inspired by the 15th century Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli”)[Botticelli, get it?], was too bizarre to neglect!
In this brief posting I am therefore adding my small contribution to both the ‘silly season’ in media reporting, as well as to this celebration, by posting this image and suggesting that you click on this link – and enjoy a wry smile, by viewing the remaining photographs in this series.
Among the many Blogs that carried this story, the one with the most original title was :
“Enema of the state: Russian spa unveils monument to colon cleansing“
…… enjoy
PS Thanks to my daughter Sasha for alerting me to this news…… her blog is well worth a visit !
